Pedro P. Martin, M.D.
Medical Education
Dr. Martin graduated magna cum laude from the Institute of Medical Sciences in Santiago, Cuba. He completed his residency at Agostino Netto Hospital in his native Cuba and at the New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital in New York. Dr. Martin specializes in internal medicine, and he has over 30 years of experience. He practices medicine the way it is meant to be practiced, providing high-quality medical care. He fosters a rewarding doctor-patient relationship and ensures an emphasis on prevention and a healthy lifestyle. He has a special interest in the management of chronic medical diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, and hypertension.
His goal is always to provide the highest level of patient care through clear and consistent communication and patient education.
Prior to opening Cephas Medical Center, Dr. Martin practiced at NCH, Internal Medicine Associates in Cape Coral, and Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers as a hospitalist.
Dr. Martin is fluent in English and Spanish.

When is not working with his patients, Dr. Martin enjoys reading, traveling, and outdoor activities with his family and friends.
Elizabeth Varona, APRN
Elizabeth Varona was born and raised in Cuba and studied at the Higher Science Institute of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba, where she obtained the degree of Doctor of Medicine.
She pursued her medical career in the United States by receiving her bachelor's degree in nursing at Florida International University and her master's degree at St. Thomas University. She is board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner.
Elizabeth has over 18 years of experience as a nurse, an expert in preventive care and patient-centered services proven to improve patient outcomes. Her focus is on health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention. She utilizes a holistic, integrative approach to help the patient and family achieve their health related goals.
